TECH N9NE’s presence in the industry refuses to cease its expansion. Known for his hardcore touring ethic and bar-setting stage performances, TECH N9NE continues to up the ante for other touring rap artists. Bringing his memorable hits to the masses, songs like “I’m A Playa”, “Caribou Lou”, “Riotmaker”, “Like Yeah” and “Everybody Move”, TECH N9NE proves he can deliver live as well as on CD. Over the last decade, TECH N9NE – the Kansas City recording artist has continued to build his Stange Music brand by developing a fervent following of devoted fans captivated by his uncanny energy and relentless touring schedule. By the mid-2000s, Tech N9ne was performing over 200 shows a year in high-octane sets that have earned high-profile endorsements from the likes of Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and many others.
Having released the epic “Killer” in July of 2008, which debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top Independent Album charts and Number Twelve on the Billboard Top 200 Albums, TECH N9NE followed up the groundbreaking double-album with two headlining nationwide tours, providing further evidence that he is the hardest touring artist in Hip Hop. His last solo album, “K.O.D.”, debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top Independent Album charts and provided the basis for the 50+ city K.O.D. Tour. Last summer, TECH N9NE celebrated the release of All 6′s And 7′s on June 7 (aka 6/7) which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Independent and Hip-Hop/R&B charts, and No. 4 overall on the Top 200. With appearances by Snoop Dogg, B.o.B., E-40, Busta Rhymes, Twista, Yelawolf, Stokley (Mint Condition), Chino Moreno & Stephen Carpenter, Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, T-Pain and Lil Wayne (a collaboration hashed out during a visit Tech paid to Lil Wayne at Riker’s Island), All 6′s And 7′s featured star power to commensurate with Tech N9ne’s own independent notoriety. Tech N9ne also delivered a show-stopping, stand-out feature on Lil’ Wayne’s The Carter IV, which sold nearly 1 million units in its first week of release last summer.
KRIZZ KALIKO, long known for sharing the stage with Tech N9ne and performing on some of Tech’s biggest hits, is in the midst of an uprising. His latest release under Strange Music, “S.I.C.” the EP, reached #5 on the iTunes Top Hip-Hop/Rap chart. With every release Krizz Kaliko is gaining recognition throughout the industry for his musical opus. With an energy and presence that demand attention, Krizz steps into the spotlight, well on his way to becoming a noticeable talent in his own right.
¡MAYDAY! With their intriguing grasp of hip-hop, rock and electronic music, ¡Mayday! are a cosmopolitan musical unit. Former mtvU Freshmen Five picks, ¡Mayday! have recorded with Devin the Dude, Lil Wayne, Cee-Lo, shared stages with Daft Punk, Red and Method Man, and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and have been heard on the TV shows Entourage and Lincoln Heights. The crew — Wrekonize and Bernz (vocals), Plex Luthor (guitar/keys/production), Gianni Cash (bass/keys), L.T. Hopkins (drums) and Nonymous (percussion) — broke big when their track “Groundhog Day” featuring Cee-Lo Green received over two million YouTube views within two days, setting a record without any MTV rotation. That self-started success makes ¡Mayday! a perfect fit for the independent hustle of Strange Music.
PROZAK Normal is not a word that people use to describe Prozak. Not his appearance, not his music, not his views on life and society. So, it makes perfect sense that the Saginaw, Michigan rapper selected Paranormal as the title of his new album on Strange Music which will be released in the first half of 2012. Prozak demonstrated on his last collection, 2008’s Tales From The Sick, which earned a lofty 3.5 Mics in The Source, that he is one of rap’s most diverse, talented artists. That also makes Prozak being on Strange Music — the No. 1 independent rap label in the world — a natural fit. The Saginaw, Michigan-based artist has embarked upon several tours with Strange Music and has worked with several of its artists, including Tech N9ne and Brotha Lynch Hung on “My Favorite,” a standout selection from the just-released Tech N9ne Collabos album Welcome To Strangeland.
STEVIE STONE is the newest addition to the Strange Music roster. Best known to Tech N9ne fans from his performances on the K.O.D. Tour, as well as the standout track “Midwest Explosion” featuring Tech, Stevie Stone carries the torch for Midwest rap with a rare determination. Stone’s contract signing, held at the Strange compound on St. Patrick’s Day 2011, found Tech N9ne draping Stevie with his own Strange Music medallion. “It wouldn’t be official if you didn’t have that chain,” Tech said, as the pair embraced. Tech concluding, “Stevie Stone is 100 percent Strange Music!” With his distinctive, penetrating voice, outrageously energetic stage show and impressive lyrical skills, Stevie Stone and Fly Moves Productions are a tight fit with Strange.
