Cali Swag District, the group responsible for teaching America how to “Dougie,” took over Chateau Nightclub & Gardens (www.chateaunightclublv.com) at Paris Las Vegas for lead singer, Smoove Da General’s, 21st birthday, while Samantha Ronson spun on the ones and twos Friday night.
The CSD trio walked the red carpet and celebrated Smoove’s big 2-1 Sin City style as they posed for photographers while fans begged the boys to teach them how to “Dougie.” Ronson, dressed casually for her night as the music mix master, joined the crew on the red carpet before heading into the club for her monthly appearance.
Once inside, Ronson spun a mix tailored to the CSD boys and Chateau’s energetic crowd. The birthday boy and his crew took over the club’s spacious VIP section as they celebrated with shots of Patron and drank champagne with friends and family. After getting situated, Smoove hopped into the DJ booth to sing along to “Turn My Swag On” and “I’m On One,” telling the crowd, “it’s my birthday and I’m only getting older, so somebody should have told ya.”
Around 2 a.m., the stunning Chateau cocktail waitresses presented Smoove with a three-tiered birthday cake, complete with a blinged out gold chain and Smoove’s name.
Also celebrating a belated birthday at the Parisian nightclub was the resident DJ herself. French maid cocktail servers fanned Ronson with black and white ostrich feathers and presented the shocked DJ with a three-tiered cake shaped like a record with “Happy Birthday Samantha” written across the front.
Later in the night, Cali Swag District pleased the crowd as they sang “Back It Up and Dump It” and “Kickback” as well as their Billboard Top 100 hit, “Teach Me How to Dougie.” All three singers balanced on the railing of Chateau’s state-of-the-art DJ booth as they sang to a packed house of screaming fans. As CSD singer Yung jumped into the crowd to shake hands with fans, Smoove told the audience, “I celebrated my 20th birthday in Vegas last year but it was nothing like this.”
Sugar Factory American Brasserie (www.sugarfactory.com) at Paris Las Vegas was birthday bash central on Friday night as Smoove Da General from Cali Swag District celebrated his 21st birthday and Elizabeth Mathis and Sasha Jackson, accompanied by co-star from the highly anticipated “Blue Crush 2” Sharni Vinson, celebrated their birthdays at the dining hot spot.
The Cali Swag crew showed up with their game faces on, ready to take Vegas by storm to celebrate Smoove’s big day. The boys and their entourage of seven dined on pacific salmon, shrimp fettuccini alfredo, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese pops. The boys made sure that Smoove received the all-star treatment ordering the newly legal singer an ocean blue goblet, and hubba bubba, blow pop and s’more martinis. For dessert the crew indulged in red velvet, cookie jar and strawberry cheesecake sundaes, as their entire table belted out Happy Birthday to Smoove.
Two tables down, the lovely ladies from “Blue Crush 2” also had reason to celebrate, as Vinson helped her co-stars Mathis and Jackson celebrate their birthdays. The “Blue Crush” stunners were more than ready to celebrate Vegas style, as they took shots of Patron and ordered the passion punch, lollipop, and ocean blue goblets. For dessert Sugar Factory presented the girls with a plethora of cupcake options to choose from including red velvet, Oreo and Reese’s Pieces, complete with candles for the birthday girls to blow out on their special day.
After dinner both parties went into Sugar Factory’s sprawling retail store to see what birthday goodies they could find. Cali Swag District browsed around the retail store and found the Sugar Factory logo hats, signed them and gave them to the “Blue Crush 2” lovelies. The girls had blast picking everything from strawberry and cherry gummies to Lemon Heads and Reese’s Pieces. The actresses also picked out matching “I Want Candy” black leggings and the “I Want Candy” gray long sleeve shirt.
