(another bitchy rant by Lippy)
No, we are not talking about “The Youth”, a haunting anthem off MGMT’s album Oracular Spectacular, although we should, since these youth will be performing what may be their final show of 2009 next week in San Francisco. As always, visit http://www.whoismgmt.com for updated
info about this empyrean band: Andrew VanWyngarden, Ben Goldwasser, Matt Asti, James Richardson, and Will Berman.
Meanwhile, keep an eye out for MGMT on the Nickelodeon TV Show Yo Gabba Gabba‘s art episode and Live from Abbey Road performance featuring Elbow, MGMT, and Alanis Morrissette on TV all this and next week -check your local listings!
And no, we are not talking about multitalent Veronica Grey either, who has been spotted at numerous MGMT shows and has already been scene in Northern California, MGMT’s next tour stop.
Veronica Grey claims to be in town for her friend Amber Tamblyn’s book signing, on October 16, 2009,
as part of The SF Litquake Festival and DocFest, which conveniently is only 1 day before the MGMT show. Coincidence?
No one will confirm. Perhaps that is because MGMT is too busy in the studio guesting on tracks by Beck (covering Leonard Cohen) and Kid Cudi (Pursuit of Happiness.)
Youthful Amber Tamblyn’s new poetry book “Bang Ditto” is already climbing the charts; last we checked it was
#6 on Amazon and going strong. If reading is not your thing, then
a. stop reading NOW and
- What the F is up with the Youth?
- What the F is up with the Youth?
b. catch Amber on the silver screen instead. She is currently co-starring with Michael Douglas and Jesse Metcalf in
Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.
Finally, we get to the Youth in question, Kurt Cobain’s progeny, the sensational Frances (Bean) Cobain.
Walking in her father’s controversial footsteps, Ms. Cobain was recently embroiled in a twitter battle
with Ali Lohan, Lindsey Lohan’s younger sister, dissing her, basically, for being “entitled.”
Gosh, that couldn’t possibly be something that the offspring of Courtney Love would relate to.
Entitlement.
Go figure.
When Kurt Cobain sang, “Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld,” perhaps Beck and MGMT finally answer
his prayers. Go to YouTube and judge for yourself…certainly Mr. Cobain is rolling in his grave from Fysche’s book titled,
“220: S I F T I N G
The Alien Battle Royale
or
The Alien Battle Royale
or
How we met the Spirit of Kurt Cobain.”
In case you are wondering how any of this all ties in, that is because
Fysche is aka Veronica Grey
and
and
just like youth, this rant is short and sweet. Next time you might not be so lucky!

Sorry for being a noon but who are in the photos of this article?
The Bazaar magazine cover is Frances Cobain, all grown up and elegant.
We think the first picture is Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT and actress Veronica Grey, because she has a similar picture of them together on her IMDB page.
Veronica is a nutcase. Plain and simple.
Why is it when any female befriends a musician, they become vilified?
It is so anti-sisterhood, and everything that is wrong with the world, when people who have never met the person they are slandering or know nothing about what is truly going on, feel like it is their right to judge the person and call them names, which sadly is a reflection only on your world, Nicole, because people do not see the world as it objectively is, people see the world as they themselves are (Anais Nin.)
Finally,
“Today’s mighty oak is just yesterday’s nut that held its ground.”
- David Icke
Nicole, may you and people like you become more blessed so that your statements of others reflect this elevation.
Wow, my comment got deleted? Didn’t realize there was censorship here.
Not normally but I’m trying not to hurt anyone feelings I hope you understand.
The Plot thickens -
MGMT added a super small show at the
Independent in SF tomorrow night, Friday
http://www.myspace.com/mgmt
so where will Veronica Grey be?
Our guess is their first name will start with an “A”
ha ha.
I say Amber
since MGMT sold out in minutes.
Spoiler you were right http://twitpic.com/luij7
